Job Title: Student Life Coordinator
Classification: Full-year, exempt, full-time, benefits-eligible position
Reports to: Assistant Dean of Student Life
Job Summary/Objective
The Student Life Coordinator serves as a member of the Student Life team, supporting the co-curricular experience of Sweet Briar students through programming, student outreach, and leadership development. This is a live-on, essential personnel position, with some evening and weekend work to be expected.
Essential Responsibilities

Facilitate regular student life programming efforts to include, but not limited to: Weeks of Welcome, the Founders’ Day Dance, wellness programming, and off-campus opportunities.

Provide leadership and event planning support to registered student clubs and organizations, including hazing prevention education and compliance.

Directly supervise 6-8 Resident Advisors (RAs)
- Participate in regular Professional Staff On-Call rotation, providing after-hours support to students, in partnership with RA’s and Campus Safety. When needed, will serve as essential reporting personnel in response to campus crisis or emergency.

Serve as an active participant in Residence Life functions including, but not limited to: recruitment, selection, and training of RA’s and residence hall operations such as submitting maintenance requests, conducting emergency drills, and preparing for break closings.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree required from an accredited institution
- Previous campus involvement and leadership in student clubs and organizations

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and students

Proven ability to multi-task and respond to priorities

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in various forms

Ability to maintain confidential information

Familiarity with Google Calendar, Google Drive, and basic social media platforms
Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree from an accredited institution in Student Affairs, Higher Education or another appropriate field

1-3 years of professional experience working in a college or university setting

Familiarity with Canvas and Canva platforms

Previous experience in facilitation, event and program planning
The salary range for this position is $39,500.00- $43,500.00 per year. This is commensurate with education and experience and will be determined in accordance with institutional guidelines.
