Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Professional to join our dynamic healthcare team. The role is part-time, you are welcome to work as much or as little as you'd like.
Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including diagnostic evaluations using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems, to determine mental health needs.
- Deliver evidence-based therapies such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis tailored to individual client requirements.
- Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions focused on issues like grief, addiction, PTSD care, gender issues counseling, and behavioral management.
- Implement crisis management protocols to ensure patient safety during acute episodes or emergencies.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans and coordinate case management efforts for ongoing patient support.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, medical records, and HIPAA-compliant records while adhering to confidentiality standards.
- Utilize telehealth platforms for remote patient care when appropriate, ensuring seamless service delivery across various settings.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling, or a related field; licensure or certification as required by state law.
- Proven experience in clinical counseling within outpatient or inpatient environments; hospital experience is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of mental health disorders including PTSD, autism spectrum disorder, developmental disabilities, chronic pain conditions, and geriatrics.
- Proficiency in medical terminology and ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate documentation and billing purposes.
- Skilled in crisis intervention techniques and crisis management strategies to address urgent patient needs effectively.
- Experience working with children, adolescents, individuals with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and special education populations.
- Familiarity with behavioral therapies such as applied behavior analysis (ABA) and psychopharmacology principles is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for intake interviews, patient education, family counseling sessions—including Christian counseling if applicable—and collaboration with healthcare teams.
- Ability to handle sensitive situations with empathy while maintaining professionalism; commitment to patient-centered care aligned with HIPAA regulations. Pay: $75.00 - $123.00 per hour
