Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Cherry Picker Operator to join our dynamic warehouse team. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently operating cherry pickers and other heavy equipment to retrieve and organize products within a large-scale distribution environment. Duties
- Safely operate cherry pickers, reach trucks, clamp trucks, and Hi-Lo forklifts to pick, load, and unload materials in the warehouse.
- Execute order picking with precision using various equipment such as <PERSON> pickers and pallet jacks to fulfill customer orders efficiently.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic repairs or coordinate maintenance to ensure machinery operates safely and effectively.
- Assist with shipping and receiving processes by accurately loading and unloading goods while adhering to safety standards.
- Manage materials handling tasks including stacking, organizing, and storing products in designated warehouse areas.
- Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) to track inventory levels, update stock records, and support warehouse distribution activities.
- Support warehouse supervisor in maintaining safety compliance with OSHA regulations through proper equipment use and safety procedures.
- Participate in regular inventory counts and assist in maintaining accurate stock records.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow processes and improve overall warehouse efficiency.
- Handle heavy lifting tasks safely while adhering to ergonomic guidelines.
Experience
- Proven experience operating forklifts such as reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo forklifts, or similar heavy equipment within a warehouse or distribution setting.
- Prior warehouse management system (WMS) experience is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to perform equipment repairs or basic mechanical troubleshooting.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, order picking, and materials handling.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to heavy equipment operation and warehouse safety.
- Previous experience in a supervisory role or supporting warehouse management is advantageous.
- Basic math skills for inventory counting, measurements, and data entry accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with a strong attention to detail.
