Job Summary

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to identify speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs, including those in pediatric populations and early intervention programs.
- Deliver engaging speech therapy sessions utilizing evidence-based techniques to promote effective communication and safe swallowing.
- Monitor patient progress regularly, adjusting therapy strategies as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, occupational therapists, educators, families, and caregivers to coordinate care plans and ensure consistency in therapy delivery.
- Maintain detailed documentation of assessments, treatment sessions, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Educate patients and their families about speech development milestones, strategies for improvement, and home practice exercises.
- Stay current with advancements in speech therapy practices by participating in ongoing professional development.
- Support early intervention initiatives by identifying developmental delays early and implementing timely therapeutic interventions.
- Ensure all patient care activities adhere to medical terminology standards, anatomy knowledge requirements, and physiology principles relevant to speech and swallowing functions.
Experience
- Prior experience working within home health settings a plus.
- Demonstrated expertise in pediatric speech therapy and early intervention programs.
- Strong understanding of physiology related to speech production and swallowing mechanisms.
- Proven ability to perform thorough patient assessments using appropriate medical terminology and anatomy knowledge.
- Experience working with diverse populations across different age groups is preferred.
- Familiarity with multidisciplinary collaboration in healthcare or educational settings enhances effectiveness in this role.
