Duties
- Safely operate various types of vehicles, including commercial trucks and automobiles, adhering to all DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety standards
- Plan and follow efficient delivery routes to maximize productivity and punctuality
- Load, unload, and secure merchandise using safe lifting practices, ensuring proper handling of heavy items
- Communicate professionally with customers to confirm deliveries, answer questions, and build positive relationships
- Upsell additional products or services when appropriate to enhance customer satisfaction and sales goals
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle maintenance needs
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with transportation regulations
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience in commercial truck driving or automobile transportation preferred
- Strong knowledge of route driving, navigation tools, and traffic laws
- Basic math skills for calculating pricing, measurements, and delivery quantities
- Proven customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients
- Experience in retail store environments or merchandising is a plus for understanding product placement and presentation
- Ability to lift heavy packages safely while following proper lifting practices
- Familiarity with DOT regulations and commercial driving standards
- Excellent organizational skills to manage schedules, routes, and documentation effectively
- Prior experience in sales or upselling techniques is advantageous for enhancing customer interactions
