Thunder Alley Motorsports is a customer-focused motorcycle dealership dedicated to providing exceptional sales, service, and riding experiences. We are seeking an organized, enthusiastic Service Writer to serve as the primary point of contact between our customers and service department.
Position Summary
The Service Writer is responsible for greeting customers, understanding their service needs, creating repair orders, coordinating with technicians, and ensuring excellent communication throughout the service process. The ideal candidate is passionate about motorcycles, highly organized, and committed to delivering outstanding customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and accurately document service concerns.
- Create and manage repair orders from intake through completion.
- Schedule service appointments and maintain the service calendar.
- Communicate repair recommendations, estimates, and timelines to customers.
- Coordinate workflow between customers, technicians, and parts personnel.
- Monitor repair progress and provide status updates.
- Review completed work with customers and explain repairs performed.
- Process payments and close repair orders accurately.
- Assist with warranty claims and manufacturer documentation as needed.
- Maintain a clean, professional service reception area.
- Build long-term customer relationships through exceptional service.
QualificationsRequired
- Previous customer service experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn dealership management software.
- Valid driver's license.
Preferred
- Experience as a Service Writer, Service Advisor, or in a powersports, automotive, or motorcycle dealership environment.
- Knowledge of motorcycles, parts, accessories, and maintenance procedures.
- Familiarity with warranty administration and repair order systems.
- Motorcycle Endorsement
