Role Description:
This is a part-time contracted role allowing for a flexible schedule, professional development assistance, and supervision for interns. The Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor (LCDC/LCDC-I) will provide direct clinical services to clients with substance use disorders in a hybrid role based in Frisco, TX, with some work-from-home flexibility (counselors must reliably commute or are planning to relocate before agreed upon contract start date).
Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting Substance Abuse Evaluations, intake assessments, developing and updating individualized treatment plans, and delivering individual/group counseling sessions focused on substance use recovery. The counselor will provide psychoeducation on chemical dependency, relapse prevention, and coping strategies, while collaborating with the Clinical Director for additional client care support.
Additional tasks include maintaining timely and accurate clinical documentation, participating in case collaboration, and upholding ethical and regulatory standards. The counselor will contribute to a supportive environment that respects each client’s background, strengths, and recovery goals.
Qualifications:
- Licensure as an LCDC or LCDC-I in the state of Texas that is in good standing and in adherence to all applicable ethical and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated skills in Chemical Dependency and Counseling, including assessment, psychoeducation, and relapse-prevention interventions for diverse client populations.
- Experience with Treatment Planning and Case Management, including setting measurable goals, coordinating services, and monitoring progress over time.
- Ability to provide individual and group counseling using evidence-informed, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices.
- Strong interpersonal communication, and documentation skills, including use of electronic health records and compliance with privacy standards.
- Comfort working in a hybrid setting (in-person in Frisco, TX and remote) with reliable access to a confidential workspace and stable internet connection.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in outpatient or community mental health settings, familiarity with co-occurring disorders.
- Experience using TheraNest/EnsoraHealth CRM/EHR software.
