Position Summary
The People Development Manager is responsible for attracting, recruiting, developing, and retaining top talent across the organization. This position partners with company leadership to build a high-performing workforce by leading recruiting efforts, onboarding new employees, developing future leaders, coordinating training programs, and strengthening company culture.
This individual serves as a champion for employee growth, ensuring every team member has the tools, coaching, and opportunities needed to succeed while helping the organization build a strong leadership pipeline.
Key ResponsibilitiesTalent Acquisition
- Develop and execute recruiting strategies for crew, management, and leadership positions.
- Build relationships with schools, colleges, community organizations, and workforce development programs.
- Screen applicants, conduct interviews, and coordinate the hiring process.
- Maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for current and future staffing needs.
- Monitor recruiting metrics including time-to-fill, applicant flow, and hiring success.
Leadership Development
- Identify high-potential employees for advancement.
- Manage leadership development programs for shift managers, department managers, and general managers.
- Work with supervisors to develop individualized growth plans.
- Coordinate succession planning for key leadership positions.
Training & Coaching
- Partner with operations leadership to identify training needs.
- Coordinate workshops, leadership classes, and coaching sessions.
- Track training completion and effectiveness.
Employee Engagement & Culture
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and high-performance culture.
- Lead employee recognition programs, celebrations, and engagement initiatives.
- Support employee retention through regular follow-up and coaching.
- Assist with conflict resolution and employee relations when appropriate.
Performance & Talent Management
- Partner with leaders on performance improvement plans and employee development.
- Assist in career planning and internal promotions.
- Analyze turnover trends and recommend strategies to improve retention.
- Maintain employee development records and training documentation.
