What we are looking for:
A dynamic individual with a passion for food, a love for people and a flare for hospitality to join a team of dedicated planners, managers and culinary professionals.
ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in day-to-day office activities
- Field all incoming calls with ability to discuss initial event details with host and/ or direct calls to appropriate departments
- Reconcile and file event folders and paperwork
- Place orders for office supplies and materials and ensure par level of provisions
- Retrieve event supplies and custom items from various suppliers and vendors
- Assist President and senior management in daily event organization, operations and meeting scheduling
- Obtain proper event documents and apply for all necessary event insurance and permits
- Coordinate travel, guest arrival and scheduling of event specific client tastings
- Set-up and maintain on-site client tasting room
- Manage client gifts and mailers
- Compile and maintain current list of venues and contacts
EVENT COORDINATION
- Gain proficiency in event catering and floor planning software programs
- Work alongside culinary and events team to create custom event proposals
- Assist event managers in adjusting details of proposals as needed
- Partner with event managers in placing rental orders, selecting vendors, designing event aesthetics, managing contracts and managing event staff
- Prepare all event print materials, including but not limited to menus, stickers, labels and logo customizations
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Superior interpersonal skills with the ability to achieve the highest service and hospitality driven standards
- Ability to multi-task and tend to various projects simultaneously
- Ability to work flexible hours, including select early mornings, nights and weekends
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a firm grasp on time management
- Ability to remain upright for more than one hour and safely lift 30 lbs
- Position may require some travel from our NJ based Catering and Events Center to Manhattan and neighboring boroughs, Long Island and NY State with a reliable mode of transportation

- Previous catering, restaurant or hospitality education/ service experience
- Knowledge of various cuisines and styles of food, service, culinary preparation and food safety
Pay: $20.00 per hour
