Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook fried foods according to established recipes, portion sizes, and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as deep fryers, grills, ovens, and other appliances safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations in compliance with food safety procedures
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new fried dishes or improvements based on customer feedback
- Ensure food handling practices meet all safety regulations to prevent contamination or spoilage
- Support food production for high-volume service periods while maintaining quality standards
- Follow recipe adherence meticulously to ensure consistency in taste and presentation
Skills
- Proven experience as a fry cook or in a similar food preparation role within the food industry or restaurant environment
- Strong knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and proper kitchen hygiene practices
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in operating various kitchen equipment
- Experience with food handling, cooking techniques such as braising, poaching, grilling, and meal preparation
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume production settings under time constraints
- Familiarity with menu planning, food production processes, and catering experience is a plus
- Demonstrated understanding of dietary department standards and dietary aide experience is advantageous
