We are currently looking for an experienced Commercial HVAC Service Technician to join our team in the Charlotte, NC area.
Job Description
The Commercial HVAC Service Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and servicing commercial HVAC systems. This position is ideal for a dependable technician with experience working on rooftop units, split systems, package units, heat pumps, controls, compressors, motors, belts, drain lines, refrigerant circuits, and general commercial HVAC equipment.
The right candidate must be able to diagnose problems, communicate clearly, complete service tickets, take jobsite photos, and represent the company professionally with customers.
Responsibilities
Diagnose, service, and repair commercial HVAC systems
Perform preventative maintenance on rooftop units, split systems, package units, and heat pumps
Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical HVAC issues
Repair or replace motors, compressors, capacitors, contactors, belts, filters, sensors, drain lines, and related components
Check refrigerant pressures, airflow, electrical components, and system operation
Complete accurate service tickets, job notes, photos, and documentation
Communicate clearly with dispatch, management, and customers
Identify needed repairs and provide information for quotes
Maintain company tools, equipment, and vehicle in a professional manner
Follow all safety procedures and company policies
Requirements
Commercial HVAC service experience required
Experience with RTUs, split systems, package units, and heat pumps
EPA Certification required
Valid driver’s license required
Must be able to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical HVAC problems
Must be able to work independently and manage daily service calls
Must be able to climb ladders, access rooftops, lift equipment, and work outdoors in different weather conditions
Must be dependable, organized, and professional
Must be able to complete job notes, photos, and paperwork accurately
Preferred Experience
5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience
Experience with rooftop units from 5 to 20 tons
Experience with retail, restaurant, office, and commercial building HVAC systems
Knowledge of controls, economizers, compressors, fan motors, drain systems, and refrigerant diagnostics
Chiller, boiler, or controls experience is a plus but not required
