As an Economic Benefits Trainer, you will play a key role in shaping the knowledge and success of new hires and seasoned team members across Economic Services . You’ll design and deliver engaging training programs, strengthen operational excellence, and ensure best practices are woven into every learning experience. This position reports directly to the Program and Staff Development (PSD) Supervisor.
Your primary focus will be on Adult Medicaid (AMA)—including Private Living Arrangement (PLA), Long Term Care (LTC), and Special Assistance (SA)—with opportunities to support additional program areas based on department needs.
What You’ll Do
- Deliver dynamic training on Economic Benefits policy, technical navigation, communication, customer service, coaching, and team building
- Design, develop, and deliver assessments including tests, quizzes, and exams
- Evaluate and enhance training programs such as online learning, self-study, and blended learning
- Build training schedules and guide the learning experience to ensure engagement and effective knowledge transfer
- Develop and update curricula that align with evolving training needs across all benefit programs
- Ensure training is accurate, up-to-date, and fully aligned with Federal, State, and County policies
- Monitor staff learning, support needs, and operational readiness
- Provide weekly individual status updates to supervisors and program managers
- Meet with staff to create action plans that support improvement and continued development
- Communicate pathway progress reports to supervisors at the end of each training cycle

The Basics (Required Education and Experience)
Bachelor's degree
Three years of job-related experience
Equivalent education and experience are accepted

Beyond the Basics (Preferred Education and Experience)
Three (3) years of experience working within Adult Medicaid (AMA) programs within a State or County Department of Economic Self-Sufficiency training adults using adult learning theories and practices
Bachelor's degree or higher level of education in a related field to the position

Hiring Range: 27.20 to 34.92
Market Range: 27.20 - 42.63
