American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an adult Emergency Department position at a Magnet-recognized, Advanced Thrombectomy Capable Stroke Center in Rochester, NY, with Epic proficiency and a day/night rotation schedule.

Adult and geriatric emergency department setting at a 528-bed acute care teaching hospital affiliated with Cleveland Clinic and Roswell Park
-
ED features a centralized layout, advanced diagnostic technology, a dedicated pediatric ED, a crisis intervention unit, and a trauma suite adjacent to the ambulance entrance
-
Patient population includes adults and geriatrics across all emergency diagnoses, including stroke, neuro-trauma, TBI, spinal cord injury, and orthopedic trauma

Patient ratio is 1:5

Day/night rotation schedule: Days 7:00–19:00, Nights 19:00–7:00 (3x12-hour shifts)

Epic EMR experience required

Every other weekend required

Every other holiday coverage required, as needed

Floating within skillset is required

Scrub color: any combination of navy blue and white

Active NY single-state RN license required; NY is not a Compact state and pending licenses are not accepted

Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required; valid NIHSS must be included for consideration

Minimum 1 year of ED RN experience required
-
Proficiency in IV therapy including blood product administration, central line care, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs, as well as IV vasopressor management
-
Experience with CPAP/BiPAP and ventilator management required
-
Experience managing CVA/stroke, neuro-trauma, TBI, and spinal cord injury patients required
-
Cardiac monitoring skills including interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required
-
Emergency care experience including adult/pediatric ED, gunshot wounds, and orthopedic trauma required
-
Experience with isolation precautions, triage, and pediatric spinal cord injury required
-
Familiarity with specialized equipment including Bair Hugger, rapid infuser, and safe patient handling equipment
-
2 professional supervisory references from within the past 2 years required
-
Full 7-year work history with all gaps explained required

Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position
