Summary
We are seeking a reliable Construction Laborer with a Certified Flagger certification to join our team. This is a dual-role position where you will alternate between general construction labor duties and flagging traffic at job sites. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and efficient work environment, while helping with the execution of various tasks on-site and directing traffic to maintain safety around construction zones.
Construction Laborer Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of the construction site, including clearing debris and setting up equipment.
- Perform general construction tasks such as digging, trenching, lifting, carrying materials, and assisting skilled tradespeople.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and machinery safely as directed by supervisors.
- Assist with the installation of infrastructure such as pipes, concrete, and other construction materials.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized job site.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of materials to prevent accidents or damage.
Certified Flagger Responsibilities:
- Safely direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic around active construction zones using standard flagging techniques.
- Set up appropriate traffic control signs and barriers, ensuring that the area is clearly marked and safely accessible.
- Communicate effectively with other crew members and drivers to ensure smooth traffic flow and minimize delays.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal traffic control regulations.
- Work closely with site supervisors to coordinate traffic control based on project needs.
Requirements:
- Certification: Current Certified Flagger certification is required.
- Experience: Previous experience in construction labor or flagging preferred, but not required.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting and carrying heavy materials, working in all weather conditions, and standing for extended periods.
- Strong communication skills to effectively direct traffic and interact with crew members.
- Ability to follow safety procedures and work in compliance with OSHA regulations.
- Basic knowledge of construction site operations, tools, and materials.
- Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
