The Role
We're looking for a Construction Manager / Project Manager to take ownership of projects from bid handoff through final acceptance. You'll be the point person for the owner, the engineer, our subs and suppliers, and our field crews. This is a hands-on role — you'll spend time in the office running numbers and paperwork, and time on the jobsite making sure the work matches the plan.

What You'll Do
Project Execution
- Manage assigned projects from award through closeout, including schedule, budget, quality, and safety
- Build and maintain construction schedules; coordinate crews, equipment, and material deliveries to keep work moving
- Review plans and specifications, identify conflicts early, and get them resolved before they cost us money
- Conduct preconstruction, progress, and closeout meetings with owners and engineers
Cost & Contract Control
- Track job costs against the estimate; report variances and correct course
- Prepare and negotiate change orders, RFIs, and submittals
- Prepare monthly pay applications and manage billing through the owner's process
- Document delays, differing site conditions, and extra work in real time to protect the company's position
- Enforce subcontract and purchase order terms; review and approve invoices
Coordination
- Solicit, award, and manage subcontractors and suppliers
- Coordinate surveying, materials testing, traffic control, and utility locates
- Serve as primary contact for owner representatives, engineers, inspectors, and utility companies
- Coordinate with the Superintendent on crew and equipment allocation across concurrent projects
Compliance & Safety
- Administer prevailing wage and certified payroll requirements on applicable public projects
- Maintain project documentation: daily reports, quantity tracking, as-builts, and correspondence
- Support permitting, SWPPP compliance, and environmental requirements
- Champion jobsite safety and support the company safety program
What You Bring
None of the following are hard requirements. If you've got some of it and the drive to learn the rest, we want to hear from you.
Preferred
- 3+ years of construction management or project management experience in heavy civil, earthwork, underground utilities, or road construction. We'll give serious consideration to project management experience from another industry, or to someone with strong field experience who's ready to move into the office.
- Ability to read and interpret civil plans, profiles, cross-sections, and technical specifications
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to track schedules, budgets, and paperwork across multiple jobs at once
- Working knowledge of public works contracting — bid documents, submittals, pay applications, change orders, and claims
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field — or equivalent field-to-office experience
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and PDF markup software (Planswift or similar)
- Experience with WYDOT, municipal, county, or state agency specifications
- Experience with GPS machine control and digital terrain models
- OSHA 30, competent person training, first aid/CPR
- Experience managing multiple concurrent projects
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Willingness to be on jobsites in Wyoming weather
