Role: Mohs Histology technician
Location: NY City
Position: per diem, 24-30 hours per week for 2 months
Certification required ; Mohs Histotech
Key responsibilities include embedding, microtomy, staining, grossing, and general tissue processing. The Histotechnologist is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and rapid turnaround of all histology samples. Collaborate closely with the Lead Mohs Histotech to maintain optimal quality control and accurate processing,
Freezing and staining frozen tissue sections and cutting with the cryostat
· Labeling, filing and storing slides
· Prepares inventories and handles solutions and reagents used in the Mohs lab
· Disposing stains and cleaning glass containers
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education, training, and experience required plus at least two years of experience in a Mohs lab.
2. Certification required in Mohs histology
3. Licensed by the New York State Department of Education (NYSED) as a Histotechnologist, Clinical Laboratory Technologist, Clinical Laboratory Technician, or Pathologist’s Assistant.
4. Must be able to work independently and accurately in a fast-paced environment, action-oriented environment.
Pay: $55.00 - $75.00 per hour
