Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards across subjects such as literacy, math, science, and social studies.
- Manage classroom behavior through effective classroom management strategies and behavior management techniques to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment.
- Incorporate learning technology tools to enhance instruction and support diverse learning styles.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, including standardized testing preparations.
- Provide individualized support through tutoring, early intervention strategies, and working with students with special needs or autism to ensure all learners succeed.
- Collaborate with colleagues, administrators, parents, and caregivers to support student growth and address individual needs.
- Engage in curriculum development initiatives to keep instructional practices innovative and effective.
- Mentor new teachers or teaching assistants to promote professional growth within the school community.
- Support extracurricular activities such as library services or physical education classes to promote well-rounded development.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, progress reports, and other administrative documentation.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience in elementary education is required; experience in private schools or Montessori settings is a plus.
- Demonstrated proficiency in literacy education, math instruction, and early childhood education principles.
- Experience working with children with diverse needs, including those requiring special education or early intervention services.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with students, parents, colleagues, and administrators.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories and best practices for working with young learners.
- Familiarity with standardized testing procedures and curriculum development processes.
- Proven ability to manage classroom behavior effectively while fostering a nurturing environment.
