These distinguishing features help fulfill our mission of providing every student with a world-class education.Position SummaryMystic Valley Regional Charter School is seeking a dedicated Spanish Teacher for Grades 712 to join our Languages Department.The successful candidate will deliver engaging, standards-based Spanish instruction using the school's Core Knowledge curriculum and instructional philosophy.
High school teaching assignments may include courses within Mystic Valley's internationally recognized International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme.This position reports to the Languages Department Chair.Essential ResponsibilitiesTeach Spanish courses in Grades 712 following the documented Core Knowledge curriculum and, when applicable, the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.Plan and deliver engaging lessons with clearly defined learning objectives.Teach up to five daily classes within the assigned course load.Assess student learning through formative and summative assessments, maintaining accurate records and preparing progress reports and report cards.Differentiate instruction to support the needs of diverse learners while maintaining high academic expectations.Collaborate regularly with the Languages Department Chair and colleagues on curriculum, instruction, assessment, data analysis, and best practices.Implement Mystic Valley's classroom management and assertive discipline model with consistency and fidelity.Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and other required school activities.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Languages Department Chair or Assistant Director.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Spanish or a closely related field required.Strong oral and written communication skills.Excellent organizational, instructional, and classroom management skills.Ability to analyze student performance data and use findings to improve instruction.Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, colleagues, and the school community.Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.Knowledge of best practices in world language instruction and curriculum development.Ability to design and implement lessons that meet school objectives and address students' varying needs.Experience assessing student performance and communicating progress effectively.Successful completion of applicable Massachusetts MTEL examinations within one year of employment.U.S. work authorization required.AppointmentThis is a full-time annual appointment reporting to the Languages Department Chair.
