Century Casework & Millwork is seeking an experienced architectural millwork engineer/detailer to join our engineering team.
This role is focused on high-end custom architectural millwork, not just standard cabinet production. What we need is someone who can help with the tricky work: feature walls, reception desks, specialty panels, custom counters, radius work, concealed fastening, field-fit conditions, architectural details, and other complex millwork scopes that require practical build and installation knowledge.
The ideal candidate understands how custom millwork is actually fabricated, handled, delivered, installed, and can communicate those solutions clearly through accurate shop drawings to the shop and field.
Responsibilities:
Develop detailed shop drawings for high-end custom architectural millwork.
Interpret architectural drawings, specifications, field dimensions, and design intent.
Create buildable and installable solutions for complex custom millwork conditions.
Produce clear plans, elevations, sections, details, assembly drawings, and installation details.
Identify missing information, conflicts, and constructability issues before they become shop or field problems.
Coordinate with project managers, production teams, installers, and other engineers.
Support revisions, submittals, RFIs, and field-condition updates.
Required Experience:
Strong AutoCAD drafting and detailing ability.
Architectural millwork experience.
Experience producing shop drawings for custom millwork.
Understanding of millwork fabrication, assembly, and installation methods.
Ability to read architectural drawings and specifications.
Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
Ability to work in person with the engineering and production team. (Remote position considered for the right candidate)
Preferred Experience:
10+ years of architectural millwork experience.
High-end commercial, hospitality, medical, retail, corporate interiors, or custom residential millwork.
Experience with complex custom millwork beyond standard casework.
Field measuring or installation coordination experience.
Experience with Bluebeam, Cabinet Vision/Microvellum, AlphaCAM, or similar tools.
Who This Role Is For:
This role is for someone who enjoys solving difficult details and turning design intent into clear, buildable, installable shop drawings.
You may be a good fit if others rely on you when the project is not straightforward, when the design is complex, the drawings are incomplete, the field conditions matter, or the finished product needs to look simple even though the build is not.
