The Fleet Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of the majority of the company fleet of vehicles, equipment, and trailers. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· General maintenance, preventative maintenance and repair of fleet vehicles, including gas and diesel pickup trucks and specialty vehicles.
· General maintenance, preventative maintenance and repair of trailers of various types, including but not limited to: cable dollies, car trailers, equipment trailers, tuggers, etc.
· General maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair of heavy machinery, including excavators, backhoes, and loaders.
· Working closely with office personnel to maintain a preventative maintenance system, and order parts as needed.
· Diagnose mechanical failures, electrical failures, dash lights, etc.
· Maintain a system to keep track of parts, fluids, and materials on hand that relate to the position.
· Keep a detailed record of hours, miles, and service dates.
· Maintain equipment buckets and attachments as needed by exchanging teeth and parts.
Welding Experience Preferred:
· Maintain equipment buckets and attachments as needed by hard-facing, making welded repairs, etc.
Requirements:
· Must have own basic tools required for the position.
· Welding experience preferred
· Experience working on Hyundai equipment, John Deere equipment, Ford diesel trucks, and International trucks preferred.
· Valid CA Class C license required. Class A license preferred.
· High School Diploma or equivalent required.
· Ability to pass a DOT drug test required.
· Bilingual preferred.
