CNC Machinist / Programmer
Location: Elk Grove Village, IL
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 5:45 AM – 2:05 PM
Pay: $52,000 – $65,000 per year (DOE)
We are currently seeking an experienced CNC Machinist/Programmer to join one of our manufacturing clients in Elk Grove Village. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable manufacturing company with a strong reputation for quality and precision machining.
Responsibilities
- Set up, program, and operate CNC mills and lathes.
- Create, edit, and modify CNC programs directly at the machine control.
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings.
- Select tooling and perform complete machine setups.
- Adjust speeds, feeds, and offsets to optimize production.
- Troubleshoot machining and programming issues.
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMM equipment.
- Perform routine machine maintenance.
- Work closely with engineering and quality teams to improve manufacturing processes.
Qualifications
- Must have experience programming directly at the machine control.
- Candidates who only program using CAM software (such as Mastercam) without the ability to create programs at the machine will not be considered.
- Experience with Fanuc controls preferred.
- Strong experience setting up and operating CNC mills and lathes.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret GD&T.
- Experience performing complete machine setups, tooling changes, and troubleshooting.
- Proficient with precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and CMMs.
- Metal machining experience required.
- Welding experience is a plus but not required.
