Overview
We are seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to join our team at Earl's Automotive. In this role, you will provide trustworthy, reliable care by performing engine work, transmission repair, brakes, oil changes, and diagnostics on both foreign and domestic vehicles. Some diesel maintenance and light repair is also a part of the job. Your hands-on skills and attention to detail will ensure our customers' vehicles operate safely and efficiently, contributing to our reputation for quality and reliability.
The ideal candidate must have at least five years of experience and their own set of basic hand tools. Proficiency with OBD-II diagnostic equipment is preferred. The candidate must be dependable and able to work a full-time position. Full-time hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with no weekends or holidays. Full-time employees may be able to accrue PTO after 90 days. Pay depends on experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately across various vehicle systems.
- Repair and maintain powertrain components, including engines, transmissions, and drive axles, ensuring optimal performance.
- Conduct vehicle suspension system repairs, and steering system diagnostics to enhance ride quality and safety.
- Interpret automotive wiring diagrams and schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems such as ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) and automotive electrical wiring.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools to execute repairs efficiently.
- Stay updated on the latest automotive repair techniques, including diesel engine repairs and vehicle systems technology.
Qualifications
- Proven dealership or service technician experience with a strong background in automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Extensive knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures across various systems such as powertrain, transmission, suspension, electrical, and diesel engines.
- Proficiency in interpreting automotive wiring diagrams, schematics, and understanding complex vehicle systems.
- Hands-on experience with automotive electrical systems, ADAS technology, and automotive wiring diagrams.
- Skilled in using automotive diagnostic tools alongside power tools and hand tools for effective repairs.
- Mechanical knowledge complemented by experience working on GM vehicles or similar brands preferred.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to clients.
