Title: HVAC Apprentice
Position Overview:
The HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) Apprentice is an entry-level role designed for individuals eager to learn and develop skills in the HVAC trade. Under the supervision of experienced technicians, the apprentice will assist in various tasks related to the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems.
Responsibilities:
Assist senior technicians in installing, repairing, and maintaining HVAC systems including heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration units.
Learn and understand the fundamentals of HVAC systems, including electrical components, refrigerant handling, ductwork, and control systems.
Support the troubleshooting process by identifying and diagnosing issues with HVAC systems under the guidance of senior technicians.
Assist in the installation of ductwork, piping, and wiring for HVAC systems according to specifications and building codes.
Learn to use and maintain tools and equipment used in HVAC work safely and effectively.
Participate in on-the-job training and educational opportunities to develop technical skills and knowledge of HVAC systems.
Follow safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including service reports and equipment inventory.
Collaborate with team members to complete projects efficiently and meet deadlines.
Demonstrate a strong work ethic, reliability, and a willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
Basic understanding of mechanical systems and principles.
Ability to lift heavy equipment (minimum of 50lbs) and work in various weather conditions.
Ability to squat, stoop, push, pull, climb ladders, and work in heights.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Basic tools needed for the trade.
Valid ID and reliable transportation.
Commitment to learning and developing skills in the HVAC trade.
OSHA 10 or 30 (or the ability to get one in 30 days from date of hire)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $23.00 per hour
