OFFICE ASSOCIATE II
ALLEGANY COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE, GAMING OFFICE
SUMMARY:
Performs complex clerical and routine administrative work requiring a qualified typist and records manager for a County department; does related work as required. Work is performed under general supervision. Supervision may be exercised over subordinate clerical personnel. Receives direction from supervisor in form of specific and general guidance. Substantial amount of work based on own initiative. Must be self-motivated with strong computer, records management, and communication skills. Must be willing to train and perform the duties of the Front Desk Receptionist when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent and considerable experience in secretarial and clerical work. Associates Degree preferred. (A comparable amount of training and experience may be substituted for the minimum qualifications.)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Considerable knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment and secretarial techniques; thorough knowledge of departmental functions, organization and policies, comprehensive knowledge of business English and spelling; ability to establish harmonious working relationships with others; ability to work under pressure; ability to organize and perform work independently; ability to lay out and type complex forms and tables; ability to make arithmetic calculations. Considerable skill in typing; records management and personal computers. Considerable knowledge in MS Word and MS Excel. Ability to deal effectively with other employees and the general public. SALARY AND BENEFITS
This is a Classified position at Grade 102 with a salary range of $35,593 - $67,628 and a complete County benefits package including health and life insurance, paid leave, and pension.
