Our Pastry Cook role is an integral part of our culinary team, where you will prepare a variety of desserts, pastries and other sweet delicacies. This position is for someone who is well-versed in culinary arts, enjoys baking high-quality treats and thrives on being part of a fast-paced team.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare extraordinary bakery menu items according to set recipes and specifications which will delight our Guests with their taste and unique presentation
- Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cookies, snack cakes, pastries, mousses, pate a choux, doughs, batters, glazes, etc. following traditional and modern recipes
- Decorate pastries using different icings, glazes, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting
- Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking/baking equipment
- Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen; Follow sanitation policies at all times
- Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
- Informing direct supervisors of anything that needs attention
- Check quality of ingredients and monitoring of stock
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum 1 year experience in a high volume bakery/culinary environment (pastry-specific experience is recommended)
- Proven knowledge of pastry techniques & tools, scaling, proofing, decorating and finishing measurements as well, ingredients, equipment and small wares required for a bakery setting
- Ability to read safety procedures, and operating guidelines & instructions in English
- Ability to walk and stand for long durations
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to work scheduled hours, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
