The Facilities Manager, under general direction, will assist the Director, Athletic Facilities in ensuring the safety, functionality, and sustainability of athletic buildings and/or property. They will assist in the oversight of daily operations, help manage maintenance staff and vendors, and guarantee compliance with building codes and safety regulations.
Managerial work administering the daily operations and activities of the Athletics Complex facilities. This will include working with the coaching staff members and other athletic administrative staff, and in in the daily supervision of the students who work in the area of athletic facilities.
The salary is determined in accordance with the University’s compensation structure and will be commensurate with the candidates’ education and experience, within the assigned salary range for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Provides oversight of set-up, operation, and break-down of the department's facilities for athletic and non-athletic events as per the events calendar. Manages facility space utilization (set-up, clean-up). Be on-site and available throughout selected athletic events to assist with operations.

Conduct daily facility reviews of selected facilities. Ensure timely, secure opening and closing of buildings within the Sports Complex Campus according to schedule and security of buildings at all times. Coordinates maintenance of all athletic facilities in conjunction with campus Custodial and Grounds Services.

Manage light schedule for all athletic facilities. Prepares and processes various repair work order requests and reviews them for job completion. Assist with asset inventory control (locating, scanning, and tagging of equipment, etc.).

Monitors and assists in the preparation and long-range planning activities. Will assist in developing schedules, priorities, and standards for providing service during various events at, in and on Athletic facilities. Assist in planning, assigning, and supervising the work of others.

Enforce rules and regulations and stop all unsafe actions. Represents the department on committees and at meetings around the campuses.

Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in an applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Five years of related experience.

Three years of related supervisory experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet applications.

Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to promptly respond to on-site emergency calls.

Ability to manage, plan, and organize the overall building maintenance and operations.
Other Requirements:
- Ability to lift moderately heavy objects.

Must be able to work nights, weekends, and during holiday breaks.
Special Requirements:

Applicants with equivalent experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree may be considered. One year of the related experience is the equivalent of one college year. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have four years of related experience to meet the equivalency in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree plus the minimum required years of experience. Applicants being considered for the equivalency must have a total of nine years of experience.
