We are currently seeking a Construction Manager to take on the role of Vice President / Director of Construction. This individual will be responsible for leading and expanding an established construction business unit in the Hartford, CT area. The ideal candidate should possess strategic leadership skills, a track record of managing large projects, and the ability to drive operational excellence in both commercial and residential sectors.
The successful candidate will oversee the growth and development of the company's presence in Hartford, CT, ensuring high-quality project delivery, client satisfaction, and sustainable business expansion.
Provide strategic leadership for all construction operations in the Hartford, CT area.
Mentor and manage a team of 6–7 Project Managers.
Develop and implement strategies for business growth in commercial construction while also supporting residential projects.
Manage the full project life cycle, from preconstruction to project completion.
Collaborate with executive leadership to achieve business goals, financial targets, and operational metrics.
Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Identify new market opportunities and establish partnerships to support regional growth.
Ensure projects meet profitability targets, schedule requirements, and client expectations.
Manage resource allocation, project forecasting, and workforce planning.
Represent the company professionally in all client and community interactions.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Strong background in commercial construction, with residential experience as a bonus.
Proven track record of leading teams and managing complex projects.
Deep understanding of construction operations, project controls, and financial management.
Strategic thinker with a focus on growth and operational improvements.
Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Willingness to travel as needed within the Hartford, CT area.
