American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cath Lab/EP position requiring a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience and proficiency in cardiac, interventional radiology, and electrophysiology procedures.

Work in the Cath Lab unit of a hospital setting, caring for adult and geriatric patients
-
Specialties covered include cardiac catheterization, interventional radiology, STEMI interventions, peripheral vascular, and EP procedures including pacemaker/defibrillator inserts and change-outs

Procedures include Balloon Angioplasty, Stents, Thrombectomy, Filter Placement, Left and Right Heart Catheterization, Cardioversion, Pacemaker Insertion, EKOS, Clotriever, Balloon Pump, Vascular CSI, Hawk One, and peripheral/vascular studies

Candidate must be able to both scrub (at a 3 or 4 level) and circulate

Skills required: Scrub, Monitor, EKG; IV start is preferred

Patient ratios: 1:4–6 on days, 1:3 on nights/weekends

Schedule: 4x10-hour day shifts, 07:00–17:30

On-call requirement: 8 weekdays and 2 weekends per 6-week period, with occasional additional call

Weekend requirement: 2 weekends per 6-week period

Floating required as needed, including to a nearby sister facility

EMR systems used: Epic and Mac Lab; Pyxis also used on unit

Siemens Artis 1 x-ray system used in the lab
-
Active RN license — NC or Compact state license required; license may be pending at time of submission

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and RCIS

Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab/EP RN experience required

Cardiac Cath Lab procedure experience required: Balloon Angioplasty, Stents, Thrombectomy, Filter Placement, Pacemaker/Defibrillator Device Placement, Left and Right Heart Catheterization

Interventional Radiology procedure experience required: Stents, Angioplasty, Peripherals, Upper and Lower Extremity, Vascular Studies, Hemodynamic Monitoring

EP procedure experience required: Cardioversion and Pacemaker Insertion

Must be able to scrub at a level 3 or 4 and circulate

Experience with EKOS and CSI equipment required

Epic and Mac Lab experience required

Must pass an EKG test prior to start

Two professional references from a manager or supervisor within the past 12 months are strongly preferred; references must be in hand by start date

First-time travelers will not be considered for this position

Scrubs are provided

Weekly orientation is required; no time off is permitted during the first week of assignment due to orientation

Pre-start modules (approximately 8–10 hours for acute care roles) must be completed before the start date and annually thereafter

Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays

Up to 7 days of RTO may be approved, provided it does not fall on a holiday; RTO is not negotiable on-site after booking

Previous permanent, PRN, or EP employees of this health system must wait 12 months before being considered as a traveler; facility rehire approval is required
-
Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted
-
Travel pairs are welcome, provided each individual has their own transportation and is comfortable with potentially different schedules
-
This position has the potential to extend beyond 13 weeks for the right candidate
