Overview
Position Type: Full or Part Time Night Shift (6:45pm - 7:15am)
The MedSurg Inpatient Unit is great for a nurse who desires variety, challenges, opportunities, and support from an enthusiastic and cohesive pediatric team. This is a dynamic group of people who love working with children and their families in the southern part of Colorado. We build relationships with families for a lifetime. The MedSurg unit is a mix of many patient populations and a great opportunity for you to use all your skills you learned in nursing school.
We care for children with a variety of medical conditions including gastrointestinal, neurologic, metabolic, renal, hematological, oncological, infectious disease, behavioral, pulmonary, and immune deficiencies. We care for simple medical patients such as asthma and bronchiolitis, to complex medical patients, such as diabetic ketoacidosis. We also care for simple postoperative care to complex postoperative care such as spinal fusions. We are a Pediatric Level 2 Trauma Center, so we also care for a variety of traumatic injuries.
Duties

- Teamwork & Collaboration: Function effectively within nursing and inter-professional teams, fostering open communication, mutual respect, and shared decision-making to achieve quality patient care.
- Evidence Based Practice: Integrate best current evidence with clinical expertise and patient/family preferences and values for delivery of optimal health care.
- Quality Improvement: Use data to monitor the outcomes of care processes and use improvement methods to design and test changes to continuously improve the quality and safety of health care systems.
- Safety: Minimize risk of harm to patients and providers through both system effectiveness and individual performance.
- Informatics: Use information and technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making.
- Leadership: Nurses support organizational goals, advance the nursing profession, and enhance professional development by extending their influence to professional and community groups.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Applicants with an Associate's Degree in Nursing and who agree to obtain a BSN within three (3) years from their start/hire date may be considered in lieu of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- One (1) year of registered nurse experience
- BLS/CPR from the American Heart Association with at least six (6) months left before expiration is required upon hire.
- Current Colorado Registered Nurse (RN) license or RN license from multistate compact
Eligible Incentives:
- Up to $4,400 in relocation benefits (100 mi. or greater) for qualifying positions
Pay: $39.77 - $52.58 per hour
