Position Summary
The Janitor is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and professional environment in accordance with federal contract requirements and company quality standards. This position supports mission-critical federal operations and requires professionalism, reliability, attention to detail, and compliance with all facility access and security requirements.
Hourly rate - $13.50 PLUS $5.55 per hour for benefits.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Routine Cleaning
- Perform daily janitorial services in accordance with the Performance Work Statement (PWS) and company work schedule.
- Empty trash and recycling receptacles and replace liners.
- Transport trash to designated disposal areas.
- Clean and disinfect restrooms, sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, partitions, and fixtures.
- Replenish restroom consumable supplies including soap, paper towels, and toilet paper.
- Clean and sanitize breakrooms, kitchen areas, and food consumption areas.
- Dust and wipe desks, counters, windowsills, handrails, ledges, and other horizontal and vertical surfaces.
- Vacuum carpets, rugs, entry mats, and upholstered furniture.
- Sweep, mop, and maintain hard floor surfaces.
- Spot clean walls, doors, partitions, and glass surfaces.
- Clean stairwells, entryways, and common areas.
Exterior Services
- Police grounds around the facility.
- Remove exterior debris and litter.
- Empty and clean smoking receptacles.
- Maintain clean and presentable entrances and walkways.
Operational Area Support
- Remove trash from operational areas in accordance with approved schedules.
- Coordinate access to restricted operational areas as required.
- Avoid interference with FAA operations and personnel.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow OSHA safety standards and company safety procedures.
- Properly use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.
- Maintain professional conduct while working in secure federal facilities.
- Report unsafe conditions, maintenance issues, and security concerns to management.
Quality Control
- Complete assigned cleaning checklists.
- Participate in quality control inspections.
- Correct deficiencies identified during inspections.
Performance Standards
- Facilities must be clean, sanitary, and free of dust, debris, odors, and stains.
- Floors should have a uniform, glossy appearance and be free of marks.
- Restrooms, kitchens, and reception areas must remain fully stocked and sanitary.
- Windows, carpets, and high areas must meet periodic service standards.
- Deficiencies noted by the COR must be corrected before the next scheduled service.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience preferred.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, climb, and walk for extended periods.
- Must be dependable and punctual.
- Must maintain a professional appearance.
- Must successfully complete required background screening and facility access requirements.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Working Conditions
- Federal government operational facility.
- Work may involve exposure to cleaning chemicals, dust, noise, and varying temperatures.
- Work may include secure or restricted operational areas.
Pay: $19.05 per hour
