Job: Packaging Operator
Available Shifts:
Day Shift Monday-Thursday, 10-hour shift, 4-days working, off Friday, Saturday and Sunday – with occasional overtime on Friday.
Responsibilities of the Packaging Operator:
Performs packaging and light machine operation functions in support of production goals. The Packaging Operator will properly label and package product in correct configuration, apply the proper up to date labels, inserts and outer packaging materials for the work order and maintain all packaging equipment.
Requirements of the Packaging Operator:
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Ability to stand all shifts and keep up in a fast-paced environment
- Possess a sense of urgency
- High manual dexterity is a MUST
- Other skills and knowledge that is preferred: Weight settings, line speed, shift reporting and documentation, line clean up and equipment changeovers, equipment breakdown and re-assemble
- Pass pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check
- Experience with GMP's & SOP's
- High School Diploma or GED preferred
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is continuously required to stand; use continuous hand, arm and finger manipulation cleaning and set-up of the machine while performing the daily job function; continuously walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching and standing/walking throughout production room requiring balance. Environment requires climbing a ladder, so comfortable clothing and shoes with non-skid soles are recommended. The employee is occasionally required to lift up to 25 pounds. The vision requirements include: clear concise, close/distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The Packaging Operator duties include:
- Assembling: 10 hours a day, 4 day schedule work week, depending on size of production order.
- Packaging Operator: 10 hours a day depending on volume of order. The buckets, bags, bins may weigh up to approximately 25 lbs.
- Operate equipment requiring concise, close distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Lift buckets, bags, bins and carry 25 lbs. items while climbing steps is required due to the nature of the manufacturing plant environment is a daily routine for the Packaging Operator
Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to dry dusty conditions; moving mechanical parts; airborne particles; the noise level in the environment is moderate. Exposure to blending material agents, supplies and fumes, prepares orders with operating equipment that may release airborne particles, moving mechanical equipment to complete assembly of product order.
