Senior Automation Technician
We’re looking for a hands-on Automation Technician to help keep our systems running and improving as well as support building new automation inhouse.. This role requires solid experience with FANUC and other industrial robot programming, PLC programming, panel wiring, and mechanical troubleshooting in a manufacturing environment. You should be comfortable jumping in, diagnosing issues, and getting equipment back online. Experience with vision systems is a plus but not required. If you’ve worked in an automation or controls-focused team and enjoy a mix of programming, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement
Core Technical Skills (Beyond What You Listed)
These signal hands-on competence, not just book knowledge:
- Electrical troubleshooting – reading schematics, tracing circuits, diagnosing sensors, safety devices, servos, VFDs, and I/O
- Controls troubleshooting mindset – ability to isolate problems between mechanical, electrical, robot, PLC, and vision
- End-of-arm tooling (EOAT) setup, adjustment, and repair
- Basic pneumatics & hydraulics – valves, cylinders, air prep, leaks, timing issues
- HMI interaction – navigating screens, identifying faults, making minor edits (without breaking things)
- Safety systems knowledge – light curtains, gates, E‑stops, safety relays, safe zones, lockout/tagout
- Production support experience in a live manufacturing environment (not just projects)
- Urgent response & prioritization – knows how to handle breakdowns during a running shift
- Shift-to-shift communication – documenting fixes, changes, and risks
- Working alongside operators and maintenance without friction
- Understanding of uptime, scrap, and cycle time impact
Nice to Have Skills
- Vision systems (Cognex, Keyence, Vision Builder, Lab Viewor similar)
- Servo systems and motion control
- Networked systems (Ethernet/IP, Profinet basics)
- Basic fabrication skills (drilling, tapping, bracket mods)
- Continuous improvement or small automation upgrades

Pay: $42.00 - $45.00 per hour
