Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Behavioral Health Technician / Peer Support Specialist to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Engage with clients using peer support advocacy and sharing personal recovery experiences to inspire hope and motivation.
- Conduct crisis management and crisis intervention to de-escalate situations and ensure client safety.
- Assist clients with behavioral health needs by providing mental health counseling, addiction counseling, and social work support tailored to individual goals.
- Implement harm reduction strategies and motivational interviewing techniques to promote healthier choices and behavioral change.
- Maintain accurate documentation of client interactions within Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with privacy standards.
- Support clients in developing coping skills, setting recovery goals, and connecting them with community resources.
- Work effectively with culturally diverse communities, demonstrating sensitivity and respect for individual backgrounds and experiences.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with individuals with mental health conditions, substance use disorders, or co-occurring disorders in a supportive role.
- Strong knowledge of behavioral health principles, crisis management, crisis intervention, and addiction counseling techniques.
- Familiarity with harm reduction approaches, motivational interviewing, and recovery peer support practices.
- Ability to communicate effectively with clients from diverse cultural backgrounds while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
- Experience working with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems for documentation purposes.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor clients through their recovery process while maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Personal recovery experience is highly valued as it enhances peer support advocacy efforts.
**Must have a Peer Support Certification**
