Job Description
Direct Supplies Warehouse is wholesale distributor of maintenance supplies serving the apartment industry. We are looking for a team member who is enthusiastic, and detail oriented to work as a local delivery driver delivering products in and around the Hampton Roads area. Candidates must have real world experience maneuvering 14' box trucks up to 26' straight trucks (26,000 lbs) in and around tight roadways and backing up to garage doors and loading docks. Responsibilities include but are not limited to unloading, loading and delivering multiple stops per day. The ability to use a hand truck and pallet jack are required.
Position requires frequently lifting heavy items as well as continuous physical exertion including bending and climbing. Candidates must be customer serviced focused, have a professional appearance, and possess excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a wide variety of items to different addresses and through different routes
- Follow routes and time schedule
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect and safely operate a delivery vehicle
- Follow DOT regulations and safety standards
Skills
- Proven working experience as a Delivery Driver
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to operate vehicle in a variety of weather and traffic conditions
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Good driving record with no traffic violations
- DOT physical required but this is a non CDL position
