Behind the Pines Construction builds large additions, custom garages, new homes, and full renovations in Geauga County and the surrounding area. We're a small, quality-focused outfit — you'll work directly with the owner, not through layers of management.
The role
We're looking for an experienced superintendent to help run active jobsites on a part-time basis, up to 25 hours per week with flexible scheduling. You'll be the set of eyes on site when the owner is estimating, meeting clients, or on another job.
Retired and semi-retired superintendents are encouraged to apply. If you've spent a career running residential or commercial jobs and want two or three days a week instead of six, we'll build the schedule around you.
Responsibilities
- Run daily site operations across 1–3 active projects
- Schedule and coordinate subs and material deliveries
- Verify work against plans and specs; catch problems before they're buried
- Maintain jobsite safety, cleanliness, and security
- Coordinate inspections with local building departments
- Photo documentation and daily progress reporting to the owner
- Communicate with homeowners professionally on occupied-home projects
- Run for materials as needed — supply house, lumberyard, big box
- Handle light punch-list work: hanging mirrors, towel bars, toilet paper holders, closet shelving, hardware adjustments, touch-up items
What we're looking for
- 5+ years in residential or commercial construction, with at least 2 running crews or jobsites
- Able to read prints and shop drawings and spot errors in the field
- Solid framing knowledge — foundations, roof framing, load paths, tie-ins to existing structure
- Familiar with the Ohio building codes and the county inspection process
- Reliable transportation, own hand tools, smartphone for photos/scheduling
- Clean driving record and the judgment to represent us on a client's property
Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
