Job Summary
The Commercial HVAC Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing heating, cooling, ventilation, and refrigeration systems in commercial and light‑industrial environments. This role requires strong technical skill, problem‑solving ability, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality service to commercial clients.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair commercial HVAC systems, including RTUs, split systems, boilers, chillers, exhaust systems, and refrigeration equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and system inspections
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and control issues
- Install commercial HVAC equipment, ductwork, piping, and controls
- Start up and commission new systems
- Ensure installations meet code, manufacturer specs, and company standards
- Communicate clearly with customers, property managers, and internal teams
- Provide recommendations for repairs, upgrades, and system improvements
- Document work performed, parts used, and system conditions
- Follow OSHA, EPA, and company safety procedures
- Maintain proper handling of refrigerants and required certifications
- Keep tools, vehicles, and equipment in clean, safe working order
Qualifications
- 3+ years of commercial HVAC experience preferred
- EPA 608 Certification required
- Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems, controls, and diagnostics
- Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Experience with building automation systems (BAS) is a plus
Schedule
Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00 (weekends/on call as needed)
Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
