We are seeking an advanced level TIG Welder with 5 years of experience, able to work with minimal supervision to produce high-precision GTAW on critical components. Capable of demonstrating excellent hand-eye coordination by independently feeding filler rod into the weld puddle while controlling heat with a foot pedal or torch control. Experience with thin metal welding (Thinner than 0.060”) is a must. This is an on-site, full-time role scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm with occasional opportunities for overtime as needed.
What you will do:
- Perform high-quality structural welding on a variety of metals under a regular daily routine.
- Manage heat inputs using techniques like high-frequency starts and DC pulse settings to cleanly fuse ultra-thin metals without causing burn-through or warping
- Produce “pressure-ready” welds that can comfortably pass non-destructive testing (NDT), such as X-Ray and ultrasonic inspections compliant with ASME or AWS codes.
- Fabricate high-purity stainless steel piping systems, commercial tanks, pharmaceutical, and food-grade parts
- Read and interpret structural blueprints, complex engineering drawings, isometric layouts, and precise weld symbols with minimal supervision.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure project specifications and deadlines are met
- Conduct inspections of completed welds to ensure structural integrity and adherence to safety protocols
- Follow all safety requirements, wear PPE, inspections, and safe lifting procedures
- Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a TIG welder
- Must be able to demonstrate ability to weld in all positions
- Must demonstrate the ability to pass ASME Sec IX weld test
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge of purging and back purging
- Proficient in assigned GTAW welding techniques with thin materials
- Knowledge of matching filler metal to the base metal chemistry to prevent cracking and preserve corrosion resistance
- Be capable of identifying and resolving problems in a timely manner
- Ability to speak clearly and persuasively in positive and negative situations
- Ability to efficiently prioritize and plan work activities and develop realistic action plans
- Capable of adapting to changes in the work environment with competing demands and unexpected task assignments
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Frequent standing, bending, lifting, moving, reaching
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with changes in temperature, heat, noise, and metal materials
