The Server delivers exceptional table service to patrons by taking food and beverage orders, serving items promptly, and ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift, carry, and serve items up to 20-40 pounds during an 8-hour shift.
- Balance trays while transferring orders.
- Stand and walk continuously for an 8-hour shift.
- Bend, stoop, and reach for items.
- Work in varying temperatures (e.g., refrigerators, cooking areas).
- Operate in loud environments (e.g., music, dishwashers).
- Visual acuity to read menus, take orders, review bills, and navigate restaurant areas.
- Attend work as scheduled, including various shifts during business hours.
Education / Qualifications:
- California Food Handler Certificate required.
- Previous server experience preferred.
- Fluent in English; Mandarin preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Greet guests promptly, friendly, and professionally.
- Ensure tables are clean, stocked with utensils/napkins, and anticipate guest needs.
- Maintain menu knowledge to answer questions, suggest orders, and assist navigation.
- Deliver food, beverages, condiments, and requests accurately.
- Verify food preparation and customer satisfaction; return incorrect orders to kitchen.
- Provide exceptional service to ensure satisfaction.
- Assist co-workers as a team player for overall customer satisfaction.
- Prepare checks and collect payments.
- Help with cleaning dining areas, preparing silverware/condiments, and other assigned duties.
- Multitask efficiently to manage multiple tables and responsibilities simultaneously.
