PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT
Duties/Responsibilities:
Assesses the needs of residents with occupational therapy needs and matches their needs with services available. Meets with residents regularly according to treatment program schedule, evaluates, and maintains records of residents' progress.
Reports progress to management and family members and meets with them on a regular basis to discuss.
Repeats evaluations on a regular basis to measure progress according to professional guidelines.
Keeps current with professional literature and attends seminars on a regular basis to maintain and update professional skills.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Hearing ability sufficient to evaluate residents' occupational therapy needs.
Skill communicating verbally and in writing with residents and family members so that all parties understand the program and the degree of progress being made.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE THE 2-YEAR ASSOCIATE’S DEGREE AS A PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT, HAVE TAKEN AND PASSED THE NPTE EXAM OR IS ELIGIBLE AS A NEW GRADUATE TO TAKE IT AND POSSESS A PROFESSIONAL LICENSE TO PRACTICE IN YOUR STATE OR IS ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE ONE.
