Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate, motivated Physical Therapist to join our outpatient therapy team. This role focuses on providing high-quality, family-centered care to children with a variety of developmental, neurological, and orthopedic needs. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about working with children of all ages and committed to supporting their growth, independence, and participation in daily activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluate and treat pediatric patients using evidence-based physical therapy practices
- Develop individualized treatment plans that address functional goals and developmental milestones
- Implement interventions targeting strength, balance, coordination, mobility, and motor planning
- Provide caregiver education and home exercise programs to support progress outside of therapy
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including occupational therapists, speech therapists, and other healthcare providers
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with clinic and regulatory standards
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
- Foster a positive, engaging, and supportive therapy environment
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program
- Current TN licensure (or eligibility) to practice physical therapy
- Pediatric experience preferred (clinical rotations or professional experience)
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with children and families
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
- Passion for working with children and supporting developmental progress
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- Experience in outpatient pediatrics or early intervention
- Familiarity with sensory-motor development and play-based therapy approaches
- Knowledge of common pediatric diagnoses (e.g., developmental delays, cerebral palsy, torticollis, autism spectrum disorder)
- Strong organizational and time management skills
