Uranus Fudge Factory is looking for a creative, dependable and energetic Social Media & Marketing Assistant to help tell the story of our Missouri destination.
This is a hands-on position for someone who already understands Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, has some experience creating content and wants to develop professional marketing skills. You do not need to be a seasoned marketing expert. We will provide direction and training, but you should arrive knowing how social media works and how to create content people may actually stop scrolling to watch.
You will initially complete assignments under close direction. As you learn our brand, voice and standards, you will help plan and manage more of the Missouri location’s content calendar, subject to approval from marketing leadership.
This is a full-time, on-site position in St. Robert, Missouri. It is not a remote position.
What You’ll Do in Uranus!
- Take photographs and shoot short-form videos throughout the Uranus Missouri property
- Create content featuring the Fudge Factory, Ice Cream Company, Sideshow Museum, Putt Pirates Mini Golf, special events, new attractions and Tacos Uranus
- Edit videos for TikTok, Facebook Reels, Instagram Reels and other social platforms
- Write engaging captions, promotional copy and basic marketing messages
- Schedule and publish approved social media content
- Help maintain a Missouri content calendar
- Monitor and respond to comments and direct messages using company guidelines
- Escalate complaints, sensitive questions and unusual situations appropriately
- Create simple graphics, promotional signs and digital materials
- Assist with email and text-message marketing campaigns
- Help promote events, attractions, seasonal activities and new products
- Track basic results such as views, reach, engagement and audience response
- Coordinate with Missouri managers and employees to identify content opportunities
- Occasionally appear on camera or participate in videos
- Protect and consistently represent the Uranus brand voice
What We’re Looking For
- Some previous experience creating social media or marketing content
- Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram and TikTok
- Ability to shoot clear, interesting photos and videos with a smartphone
- Basic video-editing ability using tools such as CapCut, Canva, Adobe Express or similar programs
- Ability to create simple, attractive graphics
- Clear writing, spelling and proofreading skills
- A natural understanding of what makes social content entertaining and shareable
- Comfortable appearing on camera when needed
- Good judgment when responding publicly on behalf of a business
- Organized, dependable and capable of following a content schedule
- Willingness to accept feedback and revise work
- Ability to work independently after receiving direction and approval
- Comfortable moving around a busy tourist attraction and occasionally working outdoors
Professional experience is preferred, but it does not have to come from a traditional marketing job. Relevant experience may include freelance work, school projects, managing an organization’s social accounts, helping a small business or producing strong content for your own channels.
A college degree is not required. We care more about what you can create, how well you communicate and whether we can depend on you.
Schedule
This is a full-time position averaging approximately 40 hours per week. The position is based entirely at our St. Robert location. Occasional evening or weekend availability may be needed to cover special events or activities.
Compensation
Starting pay is $17.00 to $20.00 per hour, based on experience, skill level and work samples.
