Duties
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene
- Monitor residents’ health by checking vital signs and observing for any changes in condition
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Support residents with mobility using proper patient transfer methods and equipment such as Hoyer lifts
- Administer medications following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided, resident progress, and incident reports
- Engage residents in meaningful activities to promote mental stimulation and social interaction
Requirements
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or in senior care environments such as group homes, nursing homes, or assisted living facilities
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting and patient transfers safely
- Certification in CPR and First Aid required; additional certifications like HIPAA training are preferred
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and teamwork
- Experience working with Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, or hospice care is highly desirable
- Must be dependable, compassionate, and committed to providing high-quality home & community care
