We're currently seeking an operations-focused Assistant General Manager to support a by-the-bed student housing community near the University of Illinois in Urbana, IL.
This is a strong next step for an Assistant Manager or Assistant Property Manager who enjoys the financial and back-office side of operations and wants broader leadership exposure. With a brand-new management team in place and an active lease-up underway, this role will be highly hands-on with accounts payable, delinquency, invoices, and bill pay, with training provided on student-housing specifics and the onsite operating platform.

Responsibilities
- Own accounts payable processes including invoice coding, approvals, and bill pay accuracy
- Manage rent collections, delinquency tracking, and follow-up to support clean receivables
- Coordinate move-in and move-out documentation and ensure files stay compliant and organized
- Support month-end close activities and operational reporting with strong attention to detail
- Provide leadership coverage and operational support when the General Manager is out
Qualifications
- 1+ year of recent Assistant Manager or Assistant Property Manager experience (or equivalent) in multifamily or student housing
- Hands-on experience with AP, collections, delinquency, and high-volume resident paperwork
- Strong organization and follow-through in a fast-paced lease-up or turnaround environment
- Comfortable learning new systems and processes with training provided
- Ability to pass a standard background check
