Small Steps Early Learning Center is looking for a motivated, dependable, and growth-minded individual to join our Leadership Development Program as a Director in Training.
This position is designed for someone who has experience in early childhood education and is interested in advancing into a leadership role. You will work alongside experienced directors and our leadership team to learn all aspects of operating a successful child care center.
During your training period, you will support multiple Small Steps locations while developing the skills necessary to become a Center Director. Upon successful completion of training, you may be placed in a leadership role at one of our York County centers.

- Pennsylvania DHS Child Care Regulations (Chapter 3270)
- Keystone STARS standards and quality initiatives
- Staff coaching and leadership
- Family communication and conflict resolution
- Scheduling and staffing management
- Enrollment and customer service
- Licensing compliance and inspection preparation
- Child care business operations
- Team building and professional development
Responsibilities
- Assist with daily center operations
- Support classroom teams and center leadership
- Help maintain compliance with DHS regulations and Keystone STARS requirements
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff
- Participate in leadership meetings and training opportunities
- Assist with staffing, scheduling, and administrative duties
- Serve as a positive role model and leader within the organization
Qualifications
- Associate Degree or higher in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, Human Services, or a related field preferred
- Experience working in a licensed child care setting preferred
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to travel between Small Steps locations during training
- Desire to grow into a Center Director position
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
