Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Assistant General Manager to join our retail management team. Duties
- Assist the General Manager in overseeing daily store operations, including sales, inventory control, and staff management
- Lead and motivate a diverse retail sales team to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service
- Manage employee orientation, training & development programs to enhance team performance and engagement
- Conduct interviewing and recruiting efforts to build a talented workforce aligned with company standards
- Oversee payroll processing, bookkeeping, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) system management to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Implement merchandising strategies, pricing adjustments, and inventory management practices to maximize profitability
- Supervise shift management, cashiering operations, and customer service initiatives to maintain high standards of store performance
- Coordinate purchasing activities, stock replenishment, and inventory control to optimize stock levels and reduce shrinkage
- Utilize strong communication skills to liaise with vendors, staff, and customers effectively
- Support marketing initiatives and promotional campaigns to boost store visibility and sales growth
Experience
- Proven management experience within the retail industry, preferably in grocery or electronics stores
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with a track record of leading retail sales teams successfully
- Strong background in retail math, budgeting, and operational management practices
- Experience with POS systems, cashiering procedures, inventory management software, and wireless sales is highly desirable
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for engaging diverse customer bases effectively
- Prior assistant manager or leadership roles that involved hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations are preferred
- Excellent communication skills coupled with organizational skills for multitasking in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of retail industry sales techniques including merchandising, pricing strategies, and promotional planning
- Familiarity with grocery store operations or similar retail settings will be advantageous
