Howard County Sheltered Services Board is hiring a Records Technician. The position involves strong collaboration with a team of Service Coordinators working to provide high quality customer service to individuals in Howard County with developmental disabilities, their families, as well as agencies which provide services. The Records Technician is responsible for a variety of activities regarding document and information management to include information research, client records, information and communication collection, review, distribution, organization, maintenance and archiving. This person will also make copies, prepare mail distribution, respond to office phone calls, greet guests, and assist in event planning and social media maintenance.
A successful candidate for this position would have a strong attention to detail, consistent and efficient organizational skills and quality orientation. Also, experience with Microsoft Suite Applications (EXCEL – Word – Publisher – Outlook - Teams), information databases, electronic filing systems and a variety of technological office equipment (copying, scanning, faxing).
Minimum requirements include: High School diploma or GED and 1 year of work-related experience.
Preferred qualifications include: professional experience as a member of a multi-disciplinary team OR 1 year experience using a Health Information Management System.
This is a full-time hourly position working daytime Monday-Friday at a competitive starting wage and a full range of benefits.
