What You'll Do
- Assist veterinarians with examinations, treatments, and procedures
- Safely and compassionately restrain and handle patients
- Obtain and process laboratory samples and assist with in-house diagnostic testing
- Prepare patients, equipment, and treatment areas for surgery and dental procedures
- Monitor patients during procedures and recovery
- Administer medications and vaccines as directed by the veterinarian
- Obtain and process diagnostic radiographs (X-rays)
- Maintain clean, organized, and sanitary treatment and exam areas
- Stock, organize, and help maintain medical supplies and inventory
- Provide compassionate patient care throughout the hospital
- Communicate professionally with clients and provide basic pet-care education as directed by the medical team
- Work closely with doctors, technicians, and client-care team members to keep the day running smoothly
- Contribute to a positive, respectful, and team-focused clinic culture
What We're Looking For
- Previous veterinary experience is REQUIRED
- At least 1 year of veterinary technician/assistant experience
- Strong animal-handling and restraint skills
- Ability to work efficiently and remain calm in a busy veterinary environment
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Dependable attendance and punctuality
- Compassionate and professional approach toward patients, clients, and coworkers
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow established protocols
- Ability to multitask and prioritize throughout a busy day
- A genuine desire to learn, grow, and contribute to the team
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and carry pets weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and move throughout the workday
- Ability to work safely with animals of varying sizes, breeds, and temperaments
- Ability to perform the physical duties associated with a busy veterinary hospital
Work Environment
Veterinary medicine is rewarding—but it can also be messy, noisy, and physically demanding. Team members may be exposed to:
- Animal bites and scratches
- Loud noises and strong odors
- Sick, injured, or anxious animals
- Cleaning chemicals and medical equipment
- Bodily fluids and other routine veterinary hazards
Safety protocols, training, and support are provided.
Schedule & Compensation
Job Type: Full-time, year-round
Schedule: Four 10-hour shifts, generally 7:15 AM–6:15 PM, Monday–Friday. Our clinic is open Monday through Friday, with occasional weekend or holiday responsibilities as needed.
Pay: $13.00–$16.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
