RESPONSIBILITIES:
∙ Pre-trip and post-trip inspections - Complete thorough DOT-compliant inspections daily
∙ Safe operation - Operate commercial vehicle safely and defensively at all times
∙ Route execution - Pick up and deliver freight on-time according to dispatch instructions
∙ Drop and hook operations - Professionally execute trailer exchanges at customer facilities
∙ Load securement - Ensure cargo is properly secured when required (live loads)
∙ Documentation - Maintain accurate logs, bills of lading, and delivery receipts
∙ ELD compliance - Properly use electronic logging device and stay HOS compliant
∙ Communication - Maintain regular contact with dispatch throughout the day
∙ Customer service - Represent company professionally at all shipper/receiver locations
∙ Vehicle maintenance reporting - Report any mechanical issues immediately
∙ Fuel management - Fuel at designated locations to optimize cost
∙ Cleanliness - Keep truck interior and exterior clean and presentable
∙ Flexibility - Adapt to changing freight demands and assignments as needed
∙ Problem solving - Handle minor issues independently; escalate major concerns promptly.
