Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dedicated Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills and a comprehensive understanding of family law procedures. This role involves supporting attorneys in various family law matters, including divorce, custody, and adoption cases, while ensuring that all documentation is accurate and timely. Candidate must be a licensed paralegal or have extensive experience in family law or related practice area. Pay could exceed posted range for experienced candidate.
Duties
- Assist attorneys in the preparation and filing of legal documents related to family law cases.
- Interview clients to gather relevant information and transcribe notes for case files.
- Maintain organized case files using Mycase or similar legal case management software.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel while demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Prepare trial binders and exhibits for court proceedings.
- Manage deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and procedures.
- Provide administrative support, including scheduling appointments and managing attorney calendars.
- Draft legal pleadings and discovery responses.
- Billing.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a paralegal.
- Strong interviewing skills to effectively gather information from clients.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in managing case files.
- Proficient in legal administrative tasks, including document preparation and efiling.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with a professional demeanor.
