Hiring Range: $115,000.00 - $122,000.00 Annually
This position has an anticipated work schedule of Monday – Friday, with flexible hours between 7:30 AM and 5:30 PM. Schedule is subject to change.

Provides advanced architectural and technical support for various enterprise systems supporting the County’s Offices and Departments. Responsible for the planning, implementation, maintenance, and operation of a variety of compute (physical, virtual, and cloud) and storage resources, enterprise software, and monitoring tools and related components. Technical and architectural support is provided for a wide range of hardware, software operating systems, applications, appliances, and services. Employment is subject to the terms, conditions, and policies detailed in the Personnel Policies Manual (PPM). This position requires regular in-person presence as an essential job function. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Analyzes data operations center system lifecycle, demand, and capacity needs. Plans for the maintenance, upgrades, and migrations of these systems ensuring that best practices and County standards are followed.

Serves as data operations center, technical subject matter expert for system implementations, system designs, installations, and refreshes of supported technology stacks.

Administers the physical and virtual server environments, including Windows, RedHat Linux, VMWare, O365, and Cloud systems.

Configures and administers enterprise systems/infrastructure, including NetApps, Veritas NetBackup, Oracle Exadata, and HP StoreOnce.

Installs, configures, maintains, upgrades, troubleshoots, and repairs enterprise system hardware and peripherals, including disk arrays, fiber switches, and NAS devices.

Administers and supports hybrid Microsoft Exchange environment consisting of on premise and O365 Exchange.

Performs scheduled and emergency patching using tools like MECM, and Ansible.

Provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 level incident and problem support consisting of advanced troubleshooting of end-user and system issues, configuration changes/modifications, internal coordination, remediation, and vendor engagement.

Provides Tier 2 and Tier 3 request fulfillment support consisting of completing tasks and work related to service catalog entries or requested items within the ITSM ticketing system.

Creates and maintains backup strategies and disaster recovery strategies for enterprise systems.

Monitors and uses system management tools to gather hardware and software inventories, install software, and remotely manage enterprise systems.

Works closely with the Customer Support team, assisting with the diagnoses and resolution of issues.

Uses Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) software to manage incoming work requests, incidents, tasks, and problems.

Develops and documents County technology standards, knowledge base articles, requirements, and configurations.

Oversees enterprise license management and compliance.

Manages vendors and contractors engaged in providing escalated support; assists vendors and contractors engaged in project delivery.

Participates in on-call rotation, providing off-hours support as necessary.

Provides training and assists other IT technical staff as appropriate.

Supervision Exercised: This classification does not have supervisory authority; however, may be required to provide expertise or limited guidance or direction to employees, such as overseeing work quality, training, and guidance. Typically serves as a subject matter expert on the scope of functional area.
Supervision Received: Receives general supervision. This classification typically performs job duties by following established standard operating procedures and/or policies. Regular direction, guidance, and coaching from supervisor may be expected. There is a choice of the appropriate procedure or policy to apply to duties. Performance reviewed periodically. SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION Duties are primarily performed primarily in an office and remote work environment dependent upon Department discretion and business needs; some travel may be required. Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Participates in on-call rotation.
